Saturday&#8217s La Liga 34th day kicks off at 2 p.m. with a challenge between Alaves, in search of salvation points, and Atletico Madrid, which will try to consolidate third place and, why not, nibble a few points off second-placed Real Madrid. The Basques are coming off a 1-0 success in the regional derby against Real Sociedad, while the Colchoneros defeated Rayo Vallecano in one of the lesser stractadas with a clear 3-0 win.

Eduardo Coudet, technician of the Alaves team, has almost everyone on the roster available: the exception is Abdel Abqar, who has been out for a couple of weeks due to a muscle problem. The white-and-blue team will most likely line up with one main striker, Kike Garcia, supported by trequartists Vicente, Guridi and Aleñá.

“El Cholo” Simeone, now the longtime coach of Atletico, must do without the injured Rodrigo Riquelme but will in turn have all the other white-blue players available: in the most classic of 4-4-2s, Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann will be the offensive terminals, while on the flanks Giuliano Simeone on the right and Conor Gallagher on the left will space out.

Probable lineups:

ALAVES (4-2-3-1): Sivera; Tenaglia, Garces, Mouriño, Sanchez; Joan Jordan, Blanco; Vicente, Guridi, Aleñá; Garcia. All: Coudet.

ATLETICO MADRID (4-4-2): Oblak; Llorente, Le Normand, Lenglet, Galan; G. Simeone, De Paul, Barrios, Gallagher; Griezmann, Alvarez. All. D. Simeone.
