Paola Egonu doesn’t affect: Conegliano folds Milan and flies to Champions League final

Conegliano is the first finalist of the 2025 edition of the Champions League in women’s volleyball. The Venetian team, in fact, won the’Euroderby against the Vero Volley Milan with a score of 3-1 (25-21 20-25 25-17 25-23).
In the first set, it was the meneghine who got off to a better start finding the first stretch at 10-6. Conegliano, however, was able first to close the gap, then run away in the score thanks to a super Zhu, who put the exclamation point on the first set thanks to a superlative wall.
The first set was played by the menege women.
In the second set, Milan suffered the backlash of the lost set and the Venetians took advantage to stretch in the opening bars, even reaching +7. At that point, however, comes a sudden black-out for Conegliano, which suffers a heavy seven-point-to-one partial that allows Egonu and her teammates to bring themselves into a tie. On the wave of enthusiasm, the meneghine continued to push and, with an excellent diagonal attack by their opposite player, they won the second set.
In the third set, after an initial balance, it was again the reigning European champions who took the lead, flying away on 14-9. At that point, Imoco is adept at managing the lead until the final 25-17.
The fourth set does not differ from what happened in the previous partials, as it is once again Conegliano that comes out at a distance. In the closing stages, Milan managed to come back up to 23-24, but Gabi, at that point, put an end to it, thus giving the Venetian team its ninth consecutive success against Vero Volley.
The fourth set did not differ from what happened in the previous sets, as Conegliano once again came out on top.
Authentic protagonists for Conegliano were Isabelle Haak with 20 points, Zhu Ting with 21 and Gabi with 14. Opaque performance, on the other hand, for Paola Egonu, who did not go beyond 15 points with a pitiful 31% in attack.
