Europa FC holds on to Michele Di Piedi and armors him up

Europa FC is holding on to Michele Di Piedi
There was no shortage of proposals for Michele Di Piedi. And so Patrick Cabezutto, president of Europa FC, a major club in Gibraltar’s top league, played fast and offered the up-and-coming Italian coach a contract until 2028. “It was a great manifestation of esteem that I greatly appreciated – Di Piedi tells Sportal.it -: we immediately found the agreement and I signed with great pleasure. The company is very serious and so is the project”.
After all, ever since Di Piedi sat on the bench of the ‘green machine,’ as the team is nicknamed, there has been a turnaround: he took it over that was in the gutter and led it to seventh position, and to the cup final, and then did even better in the following championship, marked by a flattering third place.
The former globetrotting bomber has a distinct playing philosophy. “Nowadays everyone talks about modules – he emphasizes – but the characteristics of the players you have at your disposal are much more important. The coach must be good at adapting, without asking of his boys what they are unable to give: all while maintaining clear ideas at the level of play”.
“We are playing good soccer and it is a personal satisfaction. I have had the good fortune (actually the ability, ed.) to play in important leagues – he says modestly -: I have also had the good fortune to be coached by very good coaches, starting with Luciano Chiarugi, when I was in the youth of Fiorentina, and I can not fail to remember the very great Carlo Mazzone, with his deputy Leonardo Menichini, who gave me a taste of great soccer in Perugia. That, along with having traveled the world, helped me so much and opened my mind and that’s another aspect that I push on so much with the boys. There is English pace, there is Spanish dribbling, there is Italian tactics, to give three examples: these are worlds that those who coach must try to make coexist”. And Di Piedi is succeeding very well at that…
