Giro d'Italia 2025: clear goal for Antonio Tiberi

He is not yet 24 years old and, therefore, can still compete for the white jersey, but Antonio Tiberi is aiming even higher and makes no secret of his ambitions regarding edition number 108 of the Giro d’Italia, which will start on Friday, May 9, with the first of three stages on Albanian soil.

“I am very happy to participate in the Giro d’Italia again and I can–t wait to start,– said the young Bahrain Victorious climber. “These days I have been working very well and physically I feel in good shape. Damiano Caruso and I work well together, so let’s see what the feelings will be in the race. I am looking forward to the start and try to do my best”.

Bahrain Victorious sports director Gorazd Stangelj confirmed his confidence in Tiberi: “We have a clear goal: Antonio will fight for the general classification, with the’ambition to be on the podium. He will be the one and only leader of the team, if everything goes as we want or as we have planned. There’s maximum concentration on this goal”.

“The biggest challenge for Antonio is the two time trials – added Stangelj -. Then there will be the last days, especially stages 19 and 20, where we expect the most intense battle: when he will be alone against the other riders with ranking ambitions, he will have to prove his qualities”.
