This Monday, May 5, is a very important day for Italian tennis and not only: Jannik Sinner is in fact finally free to return to play, given the end of the suspension agreed with Wada, and he will do so at the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome, where he will start from the second round against the winner of the match between Federico Cinà and Mariano Navone.

Smiling before reporters at the press conference, Sinner made things clear right away as far as his goals are concerned: “I am here to check the level of my game, I want to get to Paris in top form. I am not here to beat anyone, but to try to get through the round and then see what happens. There’s good that I was able to rest, but I need to get my rhythm back”.

The South Tyrolean put a difficult time in his career behind him: “It had been a while’that I hadn&#8217t spent so much time without touching the racket. I felt special sensations but I did everything without hurry. Do I feel changed? No, I am just freer now that I am no longer experiencing what I experienced last year, now I will try to find myself on the court” too.

Sinner went on to explain the’importance of the support of the people closest to me: “I realized that off the field it&#8217s important to have the right people around, in these three months I lived with other rhythms, with family and friends, from a certain point of view I was also pleased. I knew it would not be easy, but I am happy with how we handled the break”.
