Jannik Sinner removes a pebble from his shoe

The press conference held in Rome starring Jannik Sinner, who is scheduled to return to the court precisely for the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia, was also an important opportunity to talk about how the tennis world reacted to the affair that later led to the agreement between the world number 1 and Wada for a three-month suspension.
The South Tyrolean actually wanted to dodge any kind of controversy and clearly said he did not want to name names, but still chose to take a pebble out of his shoe: “At the beginning several messages came from other players, some even surprised me, while I expected something from others but nothing came. It is not a problem anyway, it is the individual nature of the sport. Names? I prefer to avoid, there is no need to make them”.
What struck Sinner was certainly the vigorous support even outside of tennis: I am a very simple guy of 23 years old, I am good at tennis but I do not change the world. Success can’t change a person, I always remember that I started from a small town of 2,000, today I’m here speaking in Rome, that’s a lot. I think being honest and not being fake is appreciated by people”.
Jannik Sinner returned to speak at a press conference on the very day that he is officially cleared to resume playing: his first official match is scheduled for the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia, where he could face an Italian derby with Federico Cinà, should the latter defeat Mariano Navone, otherwise it will be the Argentine who will face the world number 1.
