Aleksander Ceferin thunders against the conditions of Italian stadiums

Aleksander Ceferin spoke to Sportmediaset on the day of Inter-Barcelona: “Inter has had – and is having – a great season. It is an experienced team, has a very good coach, tactically plays well. I don’t want to tip my hand before tonight’s game, but I have evidence that I predicted Inter would go very far.
Chapter San Siro and beyond: “I think Italy’s soccer infrastructure is a disgrace. You are one of the greatest football countries, you have won many World Cups, European Championships, Champions League. And at the same time, among the great countries, you have by far the worst infrastructure. To be honest, I’m a little tired of these Italian discussions about infrastructure, because all we see are just words. I hope Italy will do something. The clubs need help from the government, from municipalities, and also from private investors. It is time to act, because the situation is bad.
What about Var: “I, too, often complain about VAR decisions. I have said many times that VAR is useful. But on the hand foul, no one really knows what it is and what it is not. On offside, it’s right to cancel a goal for three inches of offside – as happened at Inter. Those are the rules and we have to respect them. But I think more work can be done on VAR. As for a public communication, for now there is no question of it”.
