Jasmine Paolini makes a strong statement on Jannik Sinner

While waiting to see her on the court at the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome, in which she will make her debut in the second round against New Zealand’s Lulu Sun, Jasmine Paolini spoke at a press conference and, among other things, expressed great happiness over Jannik Sinner’s return to the court, explaining that she had followed the affair that led to the suspension of the South Tyrolean player closely and never had any doubts about him.
“I have met him here before and it was a good moment – said the Versilia athlete.
As far as I am concerned, I think the suspension was unfair, keeping him out for three months didn’t help anyone. Jannik didn’t deserve it, what happened to him scared a little bit’ everyone: we do checks all the time, contaminations now scare”.
“We don“t have control over everything, you can high-five with a fan who may have something on his hands– Paolini added -What happened to Jannik made us realize how delicate these situations are: the Wada announced a rule change, I think something could have been done before”.
Jasmine Paolini arrives at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome with high ambitions and with a Top 5 position in the world ranking to defend if not to improve. In the capital, however, she has never found particular satisfaction: in her five previous participations she has never made it past the second round, this year, however, the challenge to the big names is on the line.
