Trieste basketball announces an NBA hit.

Ballacanestro Trieste has closed a market coup that underscores the ambitions of the white-and-red company for the last part of the season, which will see the Giulians participate in the upcoming LBA playoffs: in fact, Kylor Kelley will wear the red and white until the end of the current season.
A 213-centimeter center, class of 1997, Kelley brings to Trieste a history of perseverance and elite specialization that has taken him all the way to the world’s most prestigious stage, the NBA.
“We are incredibly excited about the’arrival of Kylor! – said President Paul Matiasic -I have had the pleasure of following Kylor’s basketball growth for a while, even in person, as I was present at a game he played in NBA just a few months ago. It is not often that a player finishes the regular season in the NBA and then comes to Italy to give a team a boost in the playoffs. The signing of Kylor is a testament to our unique approach and a testament to the’extreme level of commitment and the substantial resources that ownership is dedicating to accomplish something never seen in Trieste. We want to compete at our best, game after game, at all levels, with the clear and never hidden ambition to excel both in Italy and Europe. Behind all this, there’s the great, tireless work of every single component of our club. A work carried out often silently, away from the spotlight, without great proclamations, but concrete and, above all, made of tangible results. Every effort is aimed at one great goal: to make our wonderful city proud of its team, to make every citizen feel that they are part of a reality that is not only great and ambitious, but deeply credible and solid”.
“As playoff time draws near, we are extremely excited about the’opportunity to add a player of Kylor–s caliber to our roster,” the words of general manager Michael Arcieri. “The presence in the basket and vertical spacing he offers complements perfectly the rebounding ability, energy and activity of Jayce, as well as the open court, ball movement and perimeter shooting ability of Candu. As the pace slows down and physicality increases in the coming weeks, our ability to protect the pitturato, go for rebounds and force opponents to do the same has never been more critical. Kylor’s growth from season to season, including experiences in Europe, the G-League and the NBA this season, is extremely noteworthy. His character, integrity and work ethic make him a perfect fit for our locker room and for the’entire company. We are thrilled to have Kylor in the red and white and welcome him and his family with our warmest Trieste” embrace.
“I would like to take this opportunity to mention and thank Daniele Cavaliero, our Director of Global Scouting, and Tobia Collina, our Advanced Scout, who have been following Kylor since the G-League Showcase (Orlando, FL) in December. Their commitment and experience have been an invaluable asset to our team and are greatly appreciated. Finally, on behalf of our team and the’entire society, I would like to express our endless gratitude to owner Paul Matiasic, whose passionate and unwavering commitment to our team and our city is an inspiration, especially at this exciting time of the season” closes the gm of the Red and White.
