Lorenzo Musetti, world number 9, easily advanced to the third round of the men’s singles at the Internazionali d’Italia by beating Brandon Nakashima of the United States, number 29, with a score of 6-4 6-3, qualifying for the round of 16.

Only one break in the first set and it was in favor of Musetti, who won it at 1-1 and then in the fourth game saved a break point. Almost identical script in the second set: the 23-year-old from Carrara goes ahead by a break at 2-2.

This time the Italian does not concede even a single chance to his opponent; on the contrary, he makes a further break, even to zero, in the last game of the match. Just over an hour and 20 minutes the duration of the match, Lorenzo will now face Russian Daniil Medvedev.

“I’m super happy – said Musetti at the end of the match -It’s hard to talk to an audience like this, but it’s even nicer to play like this. I was very aggressive, and it was important to make a break when he gave it to me. Service and forehand made the difference today. I am happy with the strides made”.

“Now I have to be good at managing myself with emotions– he added -The audience has to be free, free to be Italian. It&#8217s a special week for everyone. Every year we dream of getting on the field and giving you joys, so far we are succeeding and we hope to continue like this”.
