Casper Ruud warned Jannik Sinner just hours before the quarterfinal of the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome. The Norwegian tennis player feels he is in great shape, and after his victory over Jaume Munar he sent a message to the world number one: “I have been consistent for five years on clay, that is why I like coming back here. I feel like I am in my own backyard” he said at a press conference.

“That doesn&#8220t mean I don&#8217t lose on red, and I know it&#8217s going to be one of the toughest matches of the year. Last time I lost outright to Sinner in Turin. We will play again in Italy, but we are talking about a’different surface”.

The’analysis of the match against Munar: “We know each other well. We had already played two very tough matches this year the’one against the other: fourth round and five sets in Australia; then the semifinal in Dallas that ended 7-6 in the third. This time I won with not such a tight score, but it was still a tough match with only one break per set” these are the words reported by tennisworlditalia.

The previous three matches saw Ruud always defeated against Sinner, but all the matches were played on cement: hence the great confidence of the Norwegian, who feels he can beat an Azzurro not yet at his best after returning from suspension for the Clostebol case.
