The’former world number one Andy Roddick in an interview with Tennis Channel analyzed Jannik Sinner&#8217s defeat in the final of the Rome tournament against Carlos Alcaraz. The Murcia tennis player has beaten Azzurro in the last four matches played on the ATP circuit: “I think the most important thing today was the response position” explained Roddick.

“As effective as Jannik is, on the second serve the response was lacking a little bit’. Against Carlos you have to take a few more risks, but Sinner made too many unforced errors”.

According to Roddick, Alcaraz when he plays against Sinner is always able to express himself at his best: “He knows he has to use his whole repertoire, even those decidedly peculiar shots he has, all the types of backhand he can play. Although Sinner often neutralizes them, he continues. And he doesn&#8217t feel guilty about trying things “crazy things” because in a way you have to do that against Jannik Sinner”.

“The’other thing Carlos has, and that most players don&#8217t have against the Italian tennis player, is impeccable technique. He can take a heavy ball from the opponent and can create speed because of it, because his technique, his preparation and his footwork are exceptional”.
