After skipping the Internazionali d’Italia and ending his professional relationship with Andy Murray, who as of last week is no longer his coach, Novak Djokovic resumes from Geneva his race for individual title number 100, although the Swiss ATP 250 serves above all to prepare in the best possible way for Roland Garros.

Talking at the press conference, the Serbian champion glossed over the topic of coaching, announcing that he has not chosen Murray’s successor nor is he in any particular hurry to do so, and made a statement on the dualism between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz that somehow smacks of a handover by the’last of the “Big Three” still active.

“I didn&#8220t see the whole Rome final, but only a few games – explained Nole -. From what I saw, though, they played at a high level. They are the benchmarks of the sport now, their rivalry is important and it is good that new players are emerging in this way. I am happy this way, it is good for tennis”.

Born in 1987, Novak Djokovic has now been one of the faces of tennis for twenty’years, able to bring out his talent in the same years when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal also dominated the scene. As of May 19, 2025, the latest update of the ATP rankings, he occupies sixth place, a ranking that will allow him to avoid the big names in the early rounds of Roland Garros.
