Alessandro Buongiorno, Napoli defender, gave a lengthy interview to the microphones of Radio CRC ahead of the challenge with Cagliari on Friday night that could deliver to the blue club the fourth scudetto of its history.

“We have to believe it, we are missing the’last piece – began the Italian center -: it would be the icing on the cake, the crowning of an important and positive season. We have never given up and now we are missing the’last brick to put in”.

The former Torino man suffered a distractive injury to the long adductor muscle in his right thigh that kept him out for the last three days of the season: “I am better, I am trying to recover and we will see how it goes”.

“The ball must not get hot, the feelings of these games must be positive – continued Buongiorno -We must have a desire to do and give everything to be able to conquer “this thing”. We must not give way to negative emotions that can hold us back, but always think positive”

With the red-blues there will be a ‘Maradona‘ sell-out: “The closeness of the fans is very important for us: they have been close to us from the’beginning, we feel their passion and attachment. We are sure they will also support us during the Cagliari challenge: we are happy with this passion towards the jersey”.

On opponents: “They are a tough team, who in these last games have had to fight to gain salvation. It won&#8217t be an easy game, I think there will be a lot of duels on an individual level: we have to be good at winning those and then imposing our game. We will not have to lack the’attitude, we have to show that we are playing a lot”.

“The strength of the group will be very important in this last game: we must all stick together, even with the’environment. That&#8217s what we start from to get great results. We will come loaded and do everything to win” concluded Buongiorno.
