There will be three Italians at the US Open

Guido Migliozzi, Edoardo Molinari, and Andrea Pavan score a prestigious result in England and gain entry to the U.S. Open, scheduled for June 12-15 in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. Italy shines in the qualifying tournament in Walton-on-the-Hill, Surrey, securing three places out of eight available for the third Major of the season.
Migliozzi, 28, originally from Vicenza, finished in second place with a score of 135 strokes (68 67, -9), preceded only by England’s Jordan Smith, winner with 134 (64 70, -10). Qualification was also won by Edoardo Molinari (66 71), vice-captain of the European team at the upcoming Ryder Cup, and Andrea Pavan (70 67), both tied for sixth with 137 (-7).
In contrast, Francesco Laporta, 20th with 139 (-5), remains out, as does Francesco Molinari, 24th with 140 (-4). The competition, played over 36 holes between the Old and New Course at Walton Heath Golf Club, had 100 players competing for eight straight places and two reserves.
