Matteo Berrettini is ready to make a comeback at Roland Garros 2025-he feels reborn after a difficult period. At the Internazionali d’Italia, played in his hometown of Rome, he was forced to withdraw during the round of 16 against Casper Ruud, due to the flare-up of an abdominal injury that had plagued him in the past.

Now, however, the prestigious Parisian Slam awaits him.

The Italian, currently number 28 in the world rankings, has gained two positions over the course of 2025 and is preparing for his fourth experience at Roland Garros, where he has been missing since 2021.

That very year he achieved his best result in the tournament, pushing all the way to the quarterfinals, where he was eliminated by Novak Djokovic, future champion of the edition and also his opponent in the Wimbledon final a few months later.

Berrettini, on January 31, 2022, reached the sixth position of the ranking ATP.
