Alessandro De Giuseppe, a Hyena with a black and blue heart

Alessandro De Giuseppe, one of the leading correspondents of the successful Mediaset program Le Iene, these days is particularly busy helping to shed light on the tragic affair of Chiara Poggi, but he did not want to miss ‘Specialmente Inter’, a charity event held in Villasanta, Brianza. Sportal.it interviewed him exclusively.

Congratulations for the work you are doing, really a great satisfaction.
Thank you, thank you. Yes, I have become very attached to sports, which has become a great passion of mine.

How did your journey to the Hyaenas begin?
I have to say that my first reports for Le Iene really started from cycling. I still remember when we were not even in prime time and I managed to interview Danilo Di Luca. On that occasion he came out about doping, telling that without using doping substances, you couldn’t finish in the top ten at the Giro d’Italia. It was a very important interview, done together with Davide Parenti, the head writer and historical director of the program. That was the first piece of a journey that, watching it today, still leaves me amazed.

What brought you to Le Iene?
A great passion for communication.

And then you also wore the Nerazzurri jersey.
Yes, I have a past in the youth of Inter. I still go to San Siro a lot today. The faith has remained that.

How do you live this period as a fan?
I have to say that the team has done great things, especially considering the roster available. Italian Cup final, Champions League final, and they played for the Scudetto until the last day…they did miracles. Now, however, I think the management should have a bigger budget.
By the way, I am friends with Monica Bertini, Piero Ausilio’s partner: he is a genius in sports management, like Marotta. They have also done extraordinary things with zero parameters, I think of Mkhitaryan, Sommer… But I hope they can make a real market.

And for the Champions League final?
We’ll keep our fingers crossed. If we win, great. If we lose, patience. But we really hope to bring it home.

The championship, on the other hand, do you give it up for lost?
Unfortunately, yes, too many points were lost. I was at the San Siro for the game with Lazio… When you waste certain chances… I don’t hold it against Arnautović, but in the 93rd minute, with that ball there, it looked like he was going to break down the goal. All he had to do was back it up. Then points lost to Parma, to Bologna… When you lose so much on the road, it gets tough.

What about Napoli?
If they won the Scudetto at home, at the Maradona, it would be a beautiful fairy tale. And I would also be happy…
