Once again Matteo Berrettini misses Roland Garros due to injury. At the Internazionali d’Italia the Roman had withdrawn in tears against Casper Ruud, now he is forced to forfeit for the umpteenth time the world clay court championship in Paris.

Berrettini has not participated in Roland Garros since 2021, when he reached the quarterfinals, his best result in the French Slam, beaten by Novak Djokovic.

In Rome, in his home tournament, he had had to leave the court in the third round against Ruud when he was losing 7-5 2-0 due to the usual abdominal muscle problems, which now prevent him from playing in Paris.
