Pecco Bagnaia is banking on a friendly track like Silverstone to relaunch after the sorrows of Le Mans. He said this in no uncertain terms on Thursday as he opened the weekend of the British Grand Prix, which has brought him much satisfaction in recent years. A difference to what happened for fellow-rival in the Ducati house, Marc Marquez.

I’ve already forgotten Le Mans, and we assume that doing better than how it went in France will be easy – stressed Bagnaia to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ -. Then here at Silverstone I have always gone to the podium in the last three years. Surely I can do well, but to succeed I want to find the best possible feeling with my Ducati”.

One of the aspects that could affect his performance lies in the weather at Silverstone, and Bagnaia knows this: “It should be cold, definitely more than we had budgeted. So the loads will have to be a bit’different, and also with the tires will change something. It is necessary to adapt on a different track from the others, finding from the start a set-up that will help me go strong”.

Actually Bagnaia not only won at Silverstone in 2022, but as mentioned he also reached the podium in the next two years. In contrast, Marc Marquez has not won the British Grand Prix even since 2014 (he had previously succeeded only one’other time, in 2010 and then at the time of the 125 Class). A complicated relationship with the British track, which his teammate hopes to use to his advantage.
