An extraordinary Chiara Pellacani enters diving history by winning at the European Championships in Antalya, Turkey, within twenty-four hours, first a team bronze, then a silver in the mixed synchro and finally a splendid individual gold, in the one-meter springboard. 283.75 was the overall score for the Italian, who finished ahead of Elna Widerstrom (Sweden, 267.10) and Michelle Luisa Heimberg (Switzerland, 265.90).

The latter, by the way, participated in this year’s final, but failed to go beyond an eighth place finish, coming far from the podium even in terms of scoring.
Just a few hours earlier, Chiara Pellacani had won the silver medal in the mixed synchro, finishing together with Matteo Santoro in second place in the 3-meter diving competition.
Only the German pair consisting of Luis Carlo Avila Sanchez and Lena Hentschel did better in terms of scoring, finishing with 289.74 points against the two Italians’ 289.71.
The class of 2002 athlete thus managed to climb all three steps of the podium between Thursday and Friday: in fact, before the pair and individual podiums, she also won the bronze medal in the team event together with Sarah Jodoin Di Maria, Riccardo Giovannini and Matteo Santoro: 360.40 was the blue score, worse only than those of Ukraine (407.20) and Germany (400.60).
