After winning stages in Tirana, Valona, and Matera, Mads Pedersen repeated himself again in Vicenza, taking his fourth victory in the Giro d’Italia 2025 and putting a serious mortgage on the cyclamen jersey. Now, however, come the decisive days for the overall classification, and the Dane is ready to put himself at the disposal of the best-placed Lidl-Trek rider in the overall standings, Giulio Ciccone.

“Ciccone is in great shape – sentenced the Danish rider, born in 1995 and professional since 2015, who in addition to the four stages of this edition won one’another in 2023, on the finish in Naples -. I think we are seeing a new ‘Cicco’ and that he will be able to capitalize on his condition on the big mountains”.

Eight stages are left before the end of the Giro d’Italia 2025: the most challenging ones, the ones where the GC men will do battle, are Sunday’s stage with finish in Asiago, Tuesday’s stage with finish in Brentonico, and the two Northwest stages with finish in Champoluc on Friday and in Sestriere on Saturday.

After 13 stages, the general classification has Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emiratex XRG) in the lead, with 38″ over teammate Juan Ayuso. Third is Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious), first of the Italians, who has to make up 1’18” from the Mexican. Giulio Ciccone, on the other hand, is in seventh, 2’20” behind Del Toro.
