Giro d’Italia 2025: Pedersen triumphs in Vicenza, Del Toro increasingly in pink

The 13th stage of the Giro d’Italia 2025 ended with a sprint finish to the last meter. From Rovigo to Vicenza, for 175 kilometers, the peloton faced a seemingly quiet stage, but with an explosive finale that overturned all predictions and gave strong emotions to the fans thronged along the Veneto roads. Imposing himself, with a sprint of pure power on the last ramp, was a majestic Mads Pedersen. The Dane of Lidl-Trek thus took his fourth victory in this Giro, confirming himself among the absolute protagonists of the race.
And to think that, with about 40 km to go, Pedersen seemed to be in trouble, the victim of a crisis that presaged the worst. But the Dane gritted his teeth and, thanks to intelligent force management, managed to rejoin the top group just at the decisive moment. On the final tear in Vicenza he launched an irresistible sprint that lined up the likes of Wout van Aert and Isaac Del Toro, second and third respectively.
For the Mexican of UAE Team Emirates, the day is still a positive one: Del Toro not only retains the pink jersey but also gains precious seconds in the overall standings. His leadership comes out further strengthened from a stage that saw great battle especially on the San Giovanni in Monte climb. Among the Italians, Antonio Tiberi’s seventh place should be noted, who is increasingly consistent in the top positions.
