Rafael Nadal, more authoritative statements on Jannik Sinner

Rafael Nadal gave a lengthy interview to ‘L’Equipe’ in which he came back to vigorously defend Jannik Sinner on the Clostebol case: “I am totally convinced that Jannik never intended to cheat or do anything illicit. I am certain of that, I would put my hand on it”.

“There’s always a lot of hype around these kinds of things, and when they happen, they–re bad for everybody– added the 22-time champion Slam -. For him, that I think he went through an ordeal for a year. Obviously for tennis, this kind of affair is negative”.

“I trust Jannik. But in the same way that I trust Jannik, I also trust justice– added the Majorcan -. I don&#8217t like to express opinions on matters I don&#8217t know. So I understand that when justice makes decisions, it is because it has all the necessary information that we do not have”.

“If decisions have been made in favor of Jannik, exonerating him and stating that he is not guilty, it is because the court in charge of analyzing the facts had all the evidence and all the arguments to reach that decision” concluded Nadal.
