Charles Leclerc will start on the front row in Monte Carlo, in that Monaco Grand Prix which for him represents the home race. The Ferrari driver, however, finished qualifying in second place, beaten in the last moments of qualifying by Lando Norris’ McLaren. And his analysis at the end of the day, despite his SF-25’s obvious recovery from the last few races, is still all about negativity.

“I am not happy, I am very disappointed. At the end of the day in Monaco, qualifying is everything, and I will start second – highlighted Leclerc to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ -. Here finishing qualifying in front of everyone is crucial, I am further away from victory by starting second than I was in Imola by starting 11th”.

“Right now I say this because I still haven&#8217t accepted the qualifying result, and there&#8217s a lot of disappointment and a big load of negativity. But that doesn&#8217t take away from the fact that inside I&#8217m still happy, even if I can–t show it,” Leclerc pointed out.

They did a tremendous job in Ferrari, for our expectations it would have already been a lot to be in the top 10, and instead we are on the front row”.

“When things go so well on the track you forget the feeling you had on Thursday. So I went into qualifying with the desire to finish in first place and I couldn&#8217t do it. That’s why I’m so angry, losing the pole position at home hurts. However, in McLaren they were great, and Lando Norris really did a great lap”, Leclerc concluded.
