The last round for Spanish La Liga, with Girona and Atletico Madrid closing out their tournament against each other at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. The Catalans send to the archives a disappointing season, which began with participation in the Champions League and ended with a very risky salvation. The Colchoneros, on the other hand, are certain of qualification for Europe’s top competition and aim to retain their third position alone.

Missing for the home team are Gutierrez, Miovski and Van de Beek. Coach Michel is likely to rely on a 4-3-3 with veteran Stuani at the center of the attack, while former Juve and Fiorentina player Arthur Melo will play in the box. Arnau Martinez and Daley Blind will have the task of manning the two flanks.

Classic 4-4-2, on the other hand, for Diego Simeone: the ‘Cholo’ will leave out Oblak giving Musso the responsibility of defending the posts, with the possible presence of Witsel, among the least employed in the season, in defense. Up front, alongside the ‘usual’ Antoine Griezmann, there could be room for Angel Correa, also a bit’out of the starting rotation the rest of the season.

Probable lineups

GIRONA (4-3-3): Juan Carlos; Martinez, Juanpe, Krejci, Blind; Herrera, Arthur Melo, Martin; Tsygankov, Stuani, Portu. All. Michel.

ATLETICO MADRID (4-4-2): Musso; Molina, Witsel, Lenglet, Azpilicueta; Riquelme, Koke, Gallagher, Lino; Griezmann, Correa. All. Simeone.
