A look toward the future

A conference “Metaverse, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence: Applications and Future Perspectives” was held at the Unitelma Sapienza University of Rome: an opportunity for academics, professionals and innovators to reflect on the role of new technologies in contemporary society. In the circumstance, real cases, future scenarios and a perspective view on where we are going were shared.

All the speeches were very much appreciated, among them that of Bruno Botta, Magnifico Rettore Unitelma Sapienza, who, after reporting on the extraordinary growth results of the telematic university, pointed out that the university has a duty to lead change, not chase it, and that of Pietro Vultaggio, journalist and digital entrepreneur, owner of TiberADV, a digital communication agency, Microsoft and Kaskerspy partner.

“Artificial Intelligence is no longer a science fiction topic – noted Vultaggio – but a real, powerful tool that can become an accelerator of good if driven responsibly. AI is a tool at man&#8217s disposal. As such, at first it is seen as a brake, then as a change, to become an accelerator. It needs to be used well and for good”.
