Carlo Calcagni and a special dedication after climbing Monte Grappa
New goal achieved by Carlo Calcagni who completed the climb of Mount Grappa on his tricycle.
“At a time when silence too often shrouds the sacrifice of those who served the state with honor, the climb of Mount Grappa today takes on a value that goes far beyond the physical challenge. It is a secular pilgrimage, a march of memory and justice. It is a tribute to all Servants of the State, civilian and military, who, in the performance of their duty, have suffered permanent, often irreparable damage, even to the loss of their lives,” reads the note issued.
And again… “The warmth of the participants, of fellow cyclist friends, but above all of the deep motivation that drives from the heart of Salento to the peaks of the Grappa: to remember, to honor, to pray. For all those who, in every place, in every time, have sacrificed and sacrifice something of themselves to make Italy great and defend the freedom of all, wrapped in the tricolor blanket of the Mother Country.”
The day ended with the presentation of the book Delfino in the ’literary review “Soave Città del Libro” held in Soave, in the province of Verona.
