Nothing to do for Giulio Zeppieri, eliminated in the first round of Roland Garros 2025 but basically without being able to have any regrets, given the opponent on the other side of the court.
The Roman, who came from the qualifiers, immediately drew Carlos Alcaraz, who won with a score of 6-3 6-4 6-2 in one hour and fifty-eight minutes of play.
The Spaniard did not force, limiting himself to snatching one break per set in the first two, except then accelerating to close hostilities quickly and not lose precious time and energy.
The world number two, defending champion and favorite for the finae triumph, will now face the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, capable of beating him in Rome in 2023.
