Davide Nicola, Cagliari triggers bench consideration: two alternatives

The future of Davide Nicola on the bench of Cagliari seems to be in the balance, despite remaining in Serie A at the end of a season lived by the redblues entirely in the second half of the standings, although salvation was achieved with relative peace of mind, with 90′ in advance of the end of the championship.

At the final whistle of the challenge against Napoli on the last day, the reflection on the future of the Cagliari bench was triggered, and the alternatives are essentially two: on the one hand, the confirmation of Nicola himself, who, however, would ask for further guarantees at the level of soccer market, and on the other hand, that of a new name, which could be the current coach of the Primavera team Fabio Pisacane.

Since the summer of 2022, in the aftermath of his retirement from playing soccer, Pisacane has entered the technical cadre of Cagliari, first as a collaborator and then as a youth coach: this year he took a great satisfaction just with the Primavera rossoblù, winning the Italian Cup of the category against the same age of Milan with a net 3-0 signed by Vinciguerra, Bolzan and Trepy.

In any case, there is no shortage of other names to make up the list of favourites: in fact, there are numerous coaches in search of a square in which to raise their stock after a difficult year, although no details have been leaked from the Rossoblù circles in this regard. What is certain is that the decision on the coach will take priority over everything, as the management will try to build the team for next season just in the image and likeness of the technician.
