Benetton Rugby, Calum MacRae takes the reins of the team and makes a promise to fans

After three years as assistant coach, specifically with defensive duties, Calum MacRae officially begins his adventure as head coach of Benetton Rugby, which officially bid farewell to Marco Bortolami at the end of the URC regular season, which ended in a bitter tenth place. The Scottish coach said he was ready for the new adventure and made a promise to the green-and-white fans.
“For this role, which is important to me, it is crucial to form an environment of competitiveness within the team’explained MacRae -. Consistency of performance will then be critical. Since my arrival at Benetton Rugby, I have witnessed a very high level of competition, for me it is now about making the team consistent in every game: whether at home in Monigo or away abroad”.
“Since I arrived in Treviso – added the Scottish coach -, over the years I have seen how much Benetton Rugby means to its people and to the fans who come to support us at Monigo. In the upcoming season, Benetton Rugby will try to be among the top eight in the United Rugby Championship, the supranational tournament that also includes another Italian franchise, Zebre Parma. In the European arena, the Lions will face the Challenge Cup, the second most important continental competition after the Champions Cup.
