Gian Piero Gasperini between Roma, Juventus and Atalanta: the situation

Gian Piero Gasperini is on paper still the’coach of Atalanta, but his future appears almost certainly far from Bergamo. The first hypothesis continues to seem that of a move to Roma, even after Juventus’s inclusion. In the meantime, Orobica fans have taken a blatant stand, demanding in no uncertain terms that the club confirm the’coach of the past nine seasons.

Roma’s acceleration dates back to Thursday, the day Gasperini met in Florence with several top executives at the Giallorossi, from Claudio Ranieri and Florent Ghisolfi to Friedkin himself. The mutual interest between the parties is therefore at a very advanced state, although any kind of formality is still lacking. This is precisely why Juventus has also tried to insert itself in extremis, and Atalanta itself continues to have a say in the matter. After all, the termination of the Grugliasco coach’s contract still has not arrived.

Net of twists and turns that are always possible in the soccer market, however, Juventus’ survey should have arrived beyond the maximum time. Contacting Gasperini would have been made by future general manager Damien Comolli and a great Bianconeri ambassador like Giorgio Chiellini. The’impression, however, is that the guarantees put on the table by Roma have already convinced the Piedmontese coach.

Those who still do not give up are the Bergamo fans. Over the course of Friday alone, Atalanta supporters first displayed a number of banners in which they called for Gasperini to stay on and put owner Stephen Pagliuca in their sights, then they emeant a communiqué calling for a further, extreme meeting between the coach and the Nerazzurri club, and finally they announced their&#8217intention to meet in a summit in front of the city municipality“to try, ideally, to take the hands of both and make them shake in a grip that will lead us toward new and important goals”. Difficult to speculate what the outcome of these initiatives may be, clear, however, that within a few days must be defined once and for all the fate of the most talked about Serie A coach of recent days.
