Harper beats Verre at Sestriere but the Giro d'Italia is Simon Yates’s

Chris Harper wins the 205-km-long 20th stage of the Giro d’Italia, starting in Verres and finishing in Sestriere. The Team Jayco AlUla rider crossed the finish line in Sestriere first ahead of Alessandro Verre (Arkea-B&B Hotels) and Simon Yates (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), the real star of the day.

The British rider, in fact, performs an authentic masterpiece on the Colle delle Finestre, and then takes advantage of the’help of a monumental Van Aert, to overturn the’outcome of the general classification, slipping the pink jersey to Isaac Del Toro and going on to take the 108th edition of the Corsa Rosa.

To complete the top 5 of the penultimate stage another Italian: Gianmarco Garofoli (Soudal Quick-Step) in fact closes in fourth place, ahead of Remy Rochas (Groupama-FDJ), who finished in fifth place.

On Sunday, the last stage in Rome, 143 km long and divided into two parts: approach, from the start in Rome-EUR, until the first passage on the finish line you reach the coast and then Ostia, then return to the start area and then final circuit (8 laps) inside the Capital.
