Inter, Simone Inzaghi does not hide bitterness

If two years ago, against Manchester City, there were many regrets for a game played with an open mind against a team that on paper started with a wide favor of the odds, this time Inter melted like snow in the sun in front of PSG, in a final that instead did not seem to have a real favorite on the eve of the match. Simone Inzaghi tried to explain what happened, speaking at a press conference.
“PSG deserved to win the game and the cup – began the Piacenza coach -. It doesn’t take away anything from a splendid course on our part, at least until the final, but the bitterness is there. The approach was negative and PSG took over the game, without giving up for a moment. The defeat was deserved, but the boys still deserve praise for what they did in the season”.
“Compared to two years ago, it was a whole different game’added Inzaghi. Tonight we were tired, they were on all the second balls and we chased too much. They certainly came in more ready also because they won the championship long ago, we played it until last week. I do not want to take away credit, they played a great game and deserved”.
Inzaghi then preferred not to answer questions regarding his future on the Nerazzurri bench: “It’s reductive to talk about the future – he said -, in 58 games before today we have given everything, we have been on the field since last July 13. There’s too much disappointment to talk about Inzaghi’s future, certainly talks will be made but this is not the time”.
