Larissa Iapichino in mom Fiona May’s footsteps: she flies over 7 meters!

Larissa Iapichino like mom Fiona May: the Italian long jump athlete crossed the 7-meter barrier for the first time in her career. Iapichino hit a resounding 7.06 meters in the year’s first outdoor competition of the season, the International Eap Sicily Meeting in Palermo.
L’Azzurra came just five centimeters short of the Italian record set by mom Fiona May, who set it in 1998. Another goal achieved for the athlete’gold medalist at the European Indoor Championships last March, who surpasses her previous personal best of 6.94 meters outdoors.
The Italian national record of 6.94 meters.
The Golden Flames athlete also achieved the second world seasonal performance. The path is set for the Stockholm leg of the Diamond League, and especially for the World Championships in Tokyo next September, where Larissa will try to impress the world.
