Novak Djokovic takes another step toward Jannik Sinner

In Paris, the focus was not only on the Champions League final that saw PSG, the club that represents the French capital, triumph against Inter: almost simultaneously, in fact, the Roland Garros third-round match between Novak Djokovic and Filip Misolic was played, with the Serbian champion getting the better of the Balkan-born Austrian 3-0.
The match lasted just over two hours er ended 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in favor of Djokovic, trailing only once all evening when Misolic held serve after the first game of the second set. Otherwise it was a convincing showing for Nole, who in the round of 16 will face Cameron Norrie, who also executed Jacob Fearnley in three sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6(1), 6-2.
Saturday’s is one more step by Novak Djokovic toward Jannik Sinner: the two, in fact, are both at the top of the draw, with the South Tyrolean seeded No. 1 and the Serbian No. 6 in the seedings. They will need both to win their next two matches, however, to see a direct clash between the two, which would take place in the semifinals.
Jannik Sinner will play the round of 16 against Andrey Rublev, a player certainly not to be underestimated, while in the quarters he would face the winner of the match between Bublik and Draper. Djokovic, on the other hand, to reach the semifinals will first have to beat Norrie and then, in the quarters, the winner of the’eighth between Sascha Zverev and Griekspoor.
