Simon Yates overturns Giro d'Italia classification

After a perfectly conducted 20th stage, Simon Yates completely overturned the Giro d’Italia general classification, snatching the pink jersey from Isaac Del Toro and going on to take the 108th edition of the Corsa Rosa.

The British rider, who was almost a second and a half behind the Mexican, made an incredible comeback, thanks in part to the wrong tactics adopted by Del Toro himself and Richard Carapaz, who controlled each other without taking into account the gap to the Englishman.

Remaining in fourth and fifth place are Derek Gee and Damiano Caruso. Instead, Giulio Pellizzari gains one position, bypassing Egan Bernal and moving up to sixth place.
