Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz: Chris Evert weighs in on the stronger one

The dualism between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz remains one of the hottest topics of discussion at Roland Garros. 18-time Grand Slam tournament champion Chris Evert in an interview with Eurosport said it would not be “surprising if Sinner and Alcaraz meet on the Philippe Chatrier on Sunday in the tournament” final.
Told of the gap between the two young tennis players and the rest of the competition, however, the gap between the Blue and the Murcia champion is much less significant. But Evert even on this point has a certainty: “I think mentally Jannik Sinner is the stronger player of the two”.
“Jannik doesn“t have the problem of choosing between options in his game. He does everything so well, he has full awareness of his strengths and weaknesses. He has length, power and also he is still improving tournament after tournament. As his coach Darren Cahill said, he is also improving on short balls and response position. I think he has also learned a lot on that aspect from the match he played against Richard Gasquet“.
Alcaraz, who beat Sinner in the final of the Internazionali d’Italia, currently has 7 previous wins against the Azzurro’s 4.
