Mugello is not just a round of the MotoGP world championship: it is a collective ritual. The track is among the most technical and fascinating in the entire championship. At 5.2 kilometers, it combines corners such as San Donato, Casanova-Savelli and the Arrabbiate, a challenging mixed section and a straight approaching a mile and a half, wherebikes touch 360 km/h. How to get to the circuit
The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello is located in the town of Scarperia e San Piero, in the province of Florence. Reaching it is not complicated, but it does require some planning, especially on race days.
- By car – If you are coming from the north, follow the A1 Highway and take the exit Barberino di Mugello. From there, follow the signs for Scarperia. From the south, the recommended exit is Incisa-Reggello, continuing to Pontassieve, Borgo San Lorenzo and finally Scarperia. Keep in mind that traffic can be very heavy, especially on Sunday mornings. There are secure parking lots, but it is essential to arrive early. If you’re traveling by camper, there are equipped areas near the circuit, many of which require advance reservations.
- By train – The nearest station is Borgo San Lorenzo, well connected to Florence Santa Maria Novella. From there, you can reach the circuit by bus, cab or shuttle. On the occasion of the GP, extraordinary services are often activated.

Where to sleep
During the MotoGP weekend, finding accommodation near Mugello can turn into a small undertaking. However, there is no shortage of options.
- Camping in or near the circuit – The most authentic experience. You sleep in tents, amid campfires, barbecues and fans from all over Europe. Official campsites are equipped with toilets, showers, refreshments and security.
- Agriturismi and B&Bs – Tuscany is one of the most welcoming regions in Italy, and around the circuit you will find villages such as Scarperia, Borgo San Lorenzo or Vicchio, with accommodations that combine comfort and tranquility.
- Hotels in Florence or Prato – If you can’t find a place near the racetrack or want to take advantage of a visit to the city, Florence is only 35 km from the circuit. With a rental car or by taking advantage of trains and shuttles, you can combine your passion for MotoGP with a cultural stay.
