Mattia Casse from skiing to biking for charity

Blue ski champion Mattia Casse gets in the saddle for a special cause by taking part, on June 6 and 7, in the 23rd edition of the Castelli24h in Feltre, to support the charity project “Six Hundred BEATS for the NICU.”
The Casse team of friends, sportsmen, amateurs and enthusiasts will compete in this cycling marathon, in the Charity Classification, with the aim of raising funds for the purchase of a thermal cradle destined for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo. Casse’s team is composed of Dalila Ivana Sasso strong pedaling, Rebecca Badarello former ski athlete now a cycling enthusiast, Sara Sandrini triathlon champion, Luca Ruggeri, Thomas Rossi, Michele Gualazzi former national blue alpine skiing team, Nicola Manenti and Adriano Cassarà, all card-carrying members of the Swatt Club; Benjamin Alliod, Mattia’s teammate in the Alpine Ski World Cup; Stefano Cecchini, Italy’s most successful amateur cyclist; and Federico Balconi, lawyer and founder of Zero Sbatti and partner in the initiative.
“I am looking forward to participating with my team in this challenge,” Casse said. “We are motivated and competitive, and we want to do our part to help children and families in need. This is a project very close to my heart and one that I hope will make a difference. The city of Bergamo has welcomed me warmly and I am proud to reciprocate by working together to support a department of excellence where so many children from all over northern Italy are admitted and treated every year.”
Mattia Casse’s upcoming events on two wheels and beyond are:
– Maratona dles Dolomites: Casse will be one of the protagonists of the talks at the Maratona Village, as well as running the cycling granfondo that takes place among the striking Dolomite passes of Alta Badia, with scenic and challenging routes (July 5 and 6)
– Matterhorn Week: the athlete will be present for a speech dedicated to alpine skiing and meet his fans during the summer festival of cultural, sports and nature events at the foot of the Matterhorn, dedicated to the mountains and the Aosta Valley territory (July 14-20).
