Nations League gets off to a good start for Paola Egonu and'Italy

It began with a victory the path of women’s Italy in the 2025 Nations League of volleyball.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Azzurri led by coach, Julio Velasco, faced and beat the United States 3-0, with scores of 25-13, 25-13, 30-28.

Italy dominated the first two sets, then had a slump in the third, finding itself down 14-21, but managed to react and close out the match, thanks mainly to Paola Egonu, the match’s top scorer with 17 points.

The second commitment in Pool 2 of the tournament for the Olympic champions in Paris will be tomorrow against Germany, followed by challenges with South Korea on Friday and Brazil on Sunday.
