It’s official: Simone Inzaghi is the new coach of Al-Hilal. This was announced in a lengthy statement by the same Saudi Arabian club based in the capital Rias: the former Inter Milan coach has signed a two-year contract. Here is the text of the statement.

“The Board of Directors of the’Al-Hilal Club Company, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Fahd bin Saad bin Nafel, has completed contractual procedures with Italian coach Simone Inzagh, who came from Inter Milan, to lead the first soccer team of the’Al-Hilal. The contract is for two years, until the end of the 2026/2027 football season. The signing ceremony took place this evening at the Four Seasons George V Hotel in the French capital Paris, in the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the new technical director.”

“Inzaghi,49, is considered one of the most important coaches in Italy and Europe, and has led Lazio and Inter in Italy, winning numerous championships with the two teams, most notably the Italian championship with Inter in the 2023-2024 season, twice the Coppa Italia and three times the Italian Super Cup, as well as twice reaching the Champions League final and finishing second in 2023 and 2025. With Lazio, he won the Coppa Italia in 2019 and the Italian Super Cup twice in 2017 and 2019.”

“Inzaghi has also won numerous individual awards, most notably Coach of the Year and Best Coach of the Italian Championship in the 2023-2024 season. Inzaghi will soon begin supervising first-team training at the club&#8217s headquarters in Riyadh in preparation for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America, which begins on Sunday, June 15. Al-Hilal will face Real Madrid in its first match of the tournament, which will be held on Wednesday, June 18, in Miami, United States.”
