Cristian Chivu is getting closer and closer in sitting on the Inter bench: it is now less and less to the completion of such a significant comeback. After the farewell of Simone Inzaghi, who flew to Al-Hilal, the Nerazzurri club would have found its new leader precisely in such a historical and charismatic figure as the former Romanian defender. Parma, the club with which Chivu had signed until June with an option to renew, has given the go-ahead for talks with Inter, paving the way for the Nerazzurri.

For Chivu it is a return home. Already a star player with the Inter shirt as a player between 2007 and 2014, he conquered everything with the Beneamata: championship, Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup, Champions League and World Club Championship, rightfully entering the legend of the 2010 Triplete. But his connection with Inter did not end with his retirement. After earning his UEFA license in 2017, he embarked on a path of growth in the Nerazzurri youth ranks: first with the Under-14 team, then with the Primavera team, with which he won the championship in the 2021-2022 season.

In February 2025, his experience leading Parma in Serie A, taking over from Fabio Pecchia at a difficult time. With professionalism and determination, Chivu was able to restore balance to the team, leading it to a painful but well-deserved salvation, culminating in the last-day victory against Atalanta.

Now he is ready for the big leap. Inter would choose to bet on him to start a new cycle, confirming the club’s willingness to put its trust in figures who deeply know the club’s history and values. Cristian Chivu would return home, ready to write a new Nerazzurri chapter.
