Joaquin Correa’s adventure with the Inter jersey is now in its final credits. After three seasons lived among highs and many lows, it has come to an end. With last year marked by dull performances and only 2 goals in 19 Serie A appearances, the Argentine striker is ready to move on. In fact, an agreement in principle has been reached between the Nerazzurri club and Botafogo for the immediate sale of the player, on a zero-parameter basis, with the only detail still to be defined related to the signing bonus.

The white smoke could arrive as early as the next few hours. There is urgency for the Brazilian club, which would like to have Correa available for the Club World Cup, scheduled in ten days in the United States. An important opportunity both for Botafogo, which aims to reinforce itself with a player of international experience, and for Tucu himself, who is looking for a revival after a really complicated period.

Who arrived at Inter in 2021, Correa has never managed to make a tangible mark in the Nerazzurri. After a good start topped by a brace in his debut against Verona, his performance has gradually declined. Complicated by a series of injuries and fierce internal competition. Last season he had been sold on loan to Olympique Marseille. But even in Ligue 1 he failed to regain the brilliance of his Lazio and Sampdoria days.

Now the new adventure in Brazil could be a turning point. Botafogo, a historic and ambitious club, is looking for international profiles to best address upcoming commitments, and Correa could prove to be a major coup. The negotiations are in the home stretch: only the last detail is missing, then it will officially be goodbye between Correa and Inter.
