Jannik Sinner: Michael Chang is headed on the'Azure and Carlos Alcaraz

Michael Chang, a former U.S. tennis player who won Roland Garros in 1989, spoke in an interview with SportKlub about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the two new tennis phenomena. Chang did not deny that he has a certain preference for the Spaniard: “He’s incredible to watch”.
“Not only because of his talent and physical prowess, but also because of the way he carries himself on the court. I am glad he can combine the two: integrity and the ability to play Slam champion tennis. Can he come close to Nadal’s record (14 titles in Paris ed.)? It’s hard to say, although I honestly didn’t think anyone would surpass Borg’s record in Paris but Nadal has definitely gone beyond that…”.
“Carlos grew up watching the Big Three, he took the best from Novak, Rafa and Roger. That’s why he thinks it’s not impossible to reach such crazy numbers and that gives him even more confidence”.
But the Murcia tennis player has a worthy opponent, Jannik Sinner, currently world number one: “His game and mentality have changed since he started working with Darren Cahill. It has given him a little bit of a different perspective, instilled more confidence, and that has taken him from a very good player to an outstanding player. He’s different from Alcaraz and he’s a great athlete. It’s great to see these two coming after Novak, Roger and Rafa”.
