Vero Volley

Luka Marttila will wear the MINT Vero Volley Monza jersey again next season. For the young and talented Finnish setter born in 2003, it will be the third season in SuperLega Credem Banca with the Monza colors on.

Strong on serve and effective in attack, Marttila has also developed reliability at the receiving end, where he distinguished himself positively in the last SuperLega season. Currently engaged with his country’s senior national team, in the 24/25 season the Finnish hammer’s score in the regular season was 219 points from 66 sets played, with 12 aces and 10 walls.

The story of Luka Luka.

Luka Marttila’s history with volleyball began at an early age, when he came to the sport as a libero in the youth ranks of his hometown team, Volley Ginepro Masku. After winning the best libero award of the 2018 NEVZA Under 17, with the representative team of Finland, from the 2018-2019 sports year he joined the first team of Kuortane, in the Finnish second category. His physical growth, in terms of height, has not only led him to change roles, becoming a slapper, but more importantly to establish himself as one of the most promising hammers in his country with the Hurrikaani Loimaa club. Marttila’s first experience outside Finland was in the 2022-23 season, when he was signed by Monza itself; in the following year he was on loan in France to Montpellier Volley, before returning to base in Brianza in the season just ended.

“I am very happy to play again in Monza next season – Marttila’s words – now I am with the Finnish national team, to keep the level high and arrive ready and charged for the new year. We want to do better than last year-I am sure that thanks to the warmth of our fans we will succeed. See you soon!”
