Series B: playout final dates made official
The 2024/2025 Serie B championship never ceases to surprise, even off the field. After weeks of uncertainties, appeals and rulings, comes the official announcement from the Lega Serie B with the dates of the final playout matches, which will determine the third team relegated to Lega Pro. The matches will be played on Sunday, June 15 (first leg) and Friday, June 20 (return leg), both at 8:30 pm. However, the pairings are yet to be determined, pending further legal developments.

Here is the official statement of the League: “After taking note of the findings of the Federal Council of May 26, in view of the proceedings pending before the endoffederal sports justice bodies, taking into account the extension of the FIGC’s terms of May 27 and the national breaks, the B League announces the dates of the Playout matches and their times: Sunday, June 15, 2025 (first leg) – 17th vs 16th – 8 pm.30, Friday, June 20, 2025 (return) – 16th vs 17th – 8:30 pm. Playout match pairings will be the subject of a subsequent and separate communication.”
Meanwhile, Cosenza and Cittadella are already mathematically relegated to Lega Pro. The third team that will accompany them into Serie C purgatory will be decided in the very playoffs in mid-June.
