Helmut Marko does not believe that the fight for the world title will be a duel between the two McLaren drivers and urges Max Verstappen to believe it all the way.
“Even with Vettel we took 44 points back from Alonso,” he reminded Servus Tv, “and Verstappen has already made up a 46-point disadvantage. This year, however, it will be very difficult, because we do not have a car at the level of McLaren”.
“As a performance, we only manage to be on par with them once every 3-4 races, they, on the other hand, have no dips. If we don’t fix the problems we have the disadvantage can only increase. We are not giving up, but we know it will be very difficult.”
