World Cup Qualification 2026: Austria-Romania, the likely lineups

Austria and Romania will face each other on Saturday, June 7, at 8:45 p.m. at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna, in a match valid for the third day of Group H of the World Cup qualifiers. Rangnick’s men, making their debut in the group, start six points behind Bosnia and cannot afford any missteps. On the other side, the Romanians got off to a bad start: the home defeat against Bosnia complicated the path and obliges the Yellowoblùs to a positive result to get back in the race.
The Romanians are on the other side.
Rangnick could rely on Gregoritsch as a central reference in attack, supported by Baumgartner, Laimer and Cham-Saracevic. Possible excellent exclusions are those of Posch and Arnautovic, who are expected to start from the bench but remain important options in the game.
For Romania, room for an offensive trident made up of Man, Dragus and Hagi, with the midfield trio of Razvan Marin, Stanciu and Marius Marin ready to give balance and quality to the maneuver.
