Fabio Pisacane new Cagliari coach

Now it is official: Fabio Pisacane is the new coach of Cagliari. He has signed a contract that binds him to the Rossoblù club until June 30, 2026 with automatic renewal for one more season upon the occurrence of certain sporting conditions. He replaces Davide Nicola.
Born in Naples, 39, Pisacane has totaled more than 430 games as a player in the professional ranks, including more than 150 with the Cagliari shirt. Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2015, he played in the Rossoblù for six seasons in which he contributed to the team–s prompt rise to the A league – winning the cadet tournament – and to the team’s stay in the top flight for the next five championships.
When his playing career ended, he immediately began his coaching career, again in the red and blue. In July 2022, he joined the first-team staff as a technical assistant, on the bench on an interim basis –before the arrival of coach Ranieri –on the occasion of the victory against Cosenza (2-0) on Dec. 26. He then joined the technical staff of the youth sector to become assistant coach of the Primavera team in March 2023.
In the summer of the same year, he took over the leadership of the team: for two consecutive seasons he achieved with his boys seventh place in the standings, coming within a whisker of access to the playoffs scudetto. And above all, he won the Italian Cup of the category –for the first time in the club–s history; beating Milan (3-0) in the final at Milan’s Arena Brera last April 9.
