Rome Sprint Festival, Patta and Desalu challenge Marcell Jacobs

Two more Olympic champions from the 4×100 in Tokyo for the Roma Sprint Festival on Friday, June 20 at the Stadio dei Marmi. For the 100-meter race, along with the already announced Marcell Jacobs, the organizers have made official the presence of Fausto Desalu and Lorenzo Patta, two more fractionists from the magical evening four years ago in Tokyo, when the Italian quartet wrote one of the most memorable pages of Italian athletics.
Jacobs will return to run at the Sprint Festival after winning last year’s edition in 10.07: three days before Rome, he will make his debut in Turku, Finland. Desalu has performed well so far in the 200 meters, with two promising victories, in Brussels in 20.27 and in Dresden with 20.21, both against the wind.
Patta came into his own at the Savona meet with 10.16 in the final after a windy 10.17 in the battery. Both, Fausto and Lorenzo, also contributed to the qualification of the Italian 4×100 at the World Championships in Tokyo thanks to 38.16 run at the World Relays in Guangzhou.
Roma Sprint Festival, organized by Vision Sport, will be televised live on Sky Sport channels. Tickets on sale on Vivaticket, free admission for those under 14.
